In the 5th match of Vivo IPL 2018, Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets. Chasing a target of 126 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad easily won the match in the 16th over with still 25 balls remaining in their innings.Shikhar Dhawan smashed 77 runs not out from 57 balls which included 13 fours and a six with a strike rate of 135.09 followed by Kane Williamson’s 36 runs form 35 balls which included three 4s and a six.
Ben Stokes and Jos Butler, who were making their debut for Rajasthan Royals did not performed well. Stokes was dismissed by Stanlake at the score of 5 from 8 balls while Butler was dismissed by Rashid Khan at the score of 6 from 9 balls. At the start of the Rajasthan’s inning , they lost the early wicket of D’Arcy Short(4), who was run out by Williamson in the first over. Sanju Samson(49) and Ajinkya Rahane(13) did a partnership of 46 runs for the 2nd wicket but Rajasthan Royals could not convert this into a huge total. Rahane’s wicket was taken by S Kaul while Shakib Al Hasan took the wicket of Sanju Samson. After this RR kept losing wickets regularly and were restricted by the SRH at a total of 125 runs.Rashid Khan, Bhubaneswar Kumar and Stanlake got 1-1 wickets while Shakib Al Hasan and S Kaul got 2-2 wickets.
When Sunrisers Hyderabad came to bat,they lost the early wicket of Wriddhiman Saha(5) who was dismissed by Jaydev Unadkat(1-28). But after that Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson never gave Rajasthan Royals any chance to come back in the match. Kane Williamson kept rotating the strike while Shikhar Dhawan was playing his shots and they both took their team to victory in the 16th over.
Sunrisers Hyderabad opened their campaign with a comprehensive win of 9 wickets and will look farward to win more matches in the tournament. Rajasthan Royals who made their comeback after 2 years of ban started the tournament with a defeat but they have got some good players and have the capability to win the tournament.They will try to come back in their next match.
